We’ll have a light supper and dessert, and will hear from Kaela Schweisthal, the Volunteer and Community Partnerships Manager at the International Institute of Minnesota. The International Institute is a very close-by neighbor, at 1694 Como Avenue, Saint Paul – near our State Fair Parking lot.
What do they do?? Founded in 1919 (!), the International Institute of Minnesota offers New Americans quality services that support their journey to stability and success. Our comprehensive offerings include refugee resettlement, English education, workforce and leadership development, college preparation and immigration and citizenship assistance. We are a diverse team of knowledgeable and encouraging advocates, ready to welcome refugees and immigrants. The Institute helps New Americans rebuild their lives while pursuing their personal and professional goals.
Examples: they offer programs like classes and job training (English, Nursing Assistant Training, Entrepreneurship), Citizenship, Immigration, and Legal Services, Refugee Services, and Career Advancement.
Lion Aleli volunteers with the International Institute and we’re so thankful for the recommendation from her to hear from Kaela this week!
